A good start in the first match of the Midland Seniors Indoor Bowls league for the Durham Seniors. Across the green we had five winning rinks and one loss to give the lads a 20-2 win.
Top rink was Brian Poulter, Malcolm Lusk, Mark Jones (came in when Alan Jobling was unfortunately n/a) and Brian Houghton with a 35-6 win.
Before the match Brian Houghton (Stanley) was presented with his 50th Seniors cap whilst John Wells and Peter Horsley (both Hartlepool) made winning debuts for the seniors.
Peter Horsley, John Lynch, Jimmy Ainger, Tony Macey picked up an 8 in their match.
This is without doubt the strongest squad the Seniors have had in a long time.
