EIBA Under 25s International Trials

The EIBA have identified 52 young bowlers for a trial for the National U25 Team. Congratulations to the four Durham County IBA bowlers who have have been selected.

Under 21s v Northumberland U21s at The Parks, Sunday 30th March 2008 starting at 2.00pm  

Return leg of Under 21s match against Northumberland

Durham Under 21s met Northumberland earlier this indoor season at Hartlepool when the Durham youngsters had an emphatic win. Each of the four rinks was successful and the total shots scored were 145 - 37 in favour of Durham.

This return leg will be at The Parks, North Shields. The Durham squad will be looking to repeat its earlier victory. Details of the first match are set out below and the team for the next one is shown on the Under 25s Players page.

Durham v Yorkshire 18th November 2007  

Round 2 v Yorkshire at Stanley & Huddersfield on 18th November 2007

Following the disappointment of the 1st round walkover against Lancashire the Under 25s team are scheduled to play against Yorkshire in the second round on Sunday 18th November 2007.

This is an Inter Counties Double Rinks Knock Out competition with one rink at home and one away. The home venue is Stanley and the away rink is Huddersfield. The starting time will be 12 noon. Yorkshire won their 1st round match against Northumberland today, 4th November 2007.

Under 25s Durham v Lancashire 4th November 2007  

Round 1 v Lancashire 4th November 2007

The first round tie scheduled for 4th November 2007 against Lancashire has been conceded by Lancashire. A team had been selected on Sunday 21st October 2007 but now will not be released.

Next round opponents are either Yorkshire or Northumberland. The date for the match is 18th November 2007. Venue is to be announced and the team will be published later.

 


Under 18's School of Excellence  

School of Excellence at Hartlepool, 19th January 2008

The County will be running a Schoool of Excellence at Hartlepool on 19th January 2008 starting at 12.00 noon. A circular will be sent to all affiliated clubs asking for nominations which will be open to those who will be under 18 on 30th September 2008.

Those taking part will be put through their paces with a series of bowling skills tests under the supervision of County Coach, George Fleming. These will include bowling the jack to specified lengths and drawing to the jack. Marks will be awarded based on accuracy.


Under 18s v Northumberland  

County U18s v Northumberland (early 2008)

The County will be playiing Northumberland in an Under 18 match of four rinks early in the New Year. The details have not been finalised and the date has been set back to 2008 to avoid any clashes with national club competitions.
