Following the recent County School of Excellence at Hartlepool the successful candidates took part in an Inter-Counties Regional Competition organised by the English Indoor Bowls Youth Development Scheme, held at The Parks on Sunday, 13th April 2008.
The competitors were split into two age groups Under 15s and Under 18s.
Durham bowlers were the winners of both groups. Keith Burton from Darlington IBC won the Under 15 group and Barry Hopkins, also from The Darlington Club, won the Under 18s. This was a brilliant result with the Durham players competing against others from Northumberland and Yorkshire.
